Chris Clowsley - Rhythm Guitar

Like Rob, Chris joined Stampede in 2011 and was instrumental to a lot of the writing on 'A Sudden Impulse'.
Chris’s musical journey started way back in 73’ when he first heard Purple’s Made In Japan. “Blackmore’s solos in Highway Star and Child In Time simply blew me away and I pestered my parents to buy me a guitar”.
Chris finally got his guitar in the shape of a Zenta Strat Copy, which he played through a hi-fi system in his bedroom and he was soon Read more [...]

Steve 'Stevie G' Graystone - Drums
It’s been said by many that The Midlands is the birth place of Heavy Rock, with iconic names too numerous to mention coming from Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.
Steve Graystone ( Stevie G) is no exception to this. He was born in Walsall and, at the age of eleven, was given his first drum kit. With lessons given by his father and at school, it didn’t take him long to realise that this was where his talent lay.

Rob Wolverson -Lead Guitar

Rob Wolverson joined Stampede in 2011 after original guitarist Laurence Archer had to bow out of recording duties due to other commitments.
At just 22 years old, Rob is a bonafide guitar prodigy with great stage presence and a real talent for writing and producing.
Rob studied music/sound engineering/production at Cardiff University where he obtained his degree. His knowledge in recording techniques proved invaluable to Stampede’s 2011 release 'A Sudden Impulse'. Read more [...]

Colin Bond - Bass
Colin (Boggy) Bond joined STAMPEDE in 1980/1. Having auditioned for several weeks, the one thing the new band lacked was a bass player that suited, both personality wise and in playing style.

Out of thirty-odd players, a short list of 5 was drawn up and Reuben and Laurence travelled from London back to their then home town of Bristol to see Colin with his current Bristol-based band, Stormtrooper.

Colin played a black Rickenbacker bass guitar and also Taurus pedals - and Read more [...]

Laurence Archer - Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals
Laurence was five years old when Reuben married Lynne, his mother. He grew up in Teddington, later moving with the family to Somerset at the age of Twelve. The young Laurence was a keen and talented footballer and one day at a junior school match, he was spotted by a Chelsea Football Club scout. A date was set for a trial at the clubs grounds, with the view to him joining their junior squad.

Unfortunately on that very day, Reuben had a bad Read more [...]

Reuben Archer - Lead Vocals
Reuben studied at Kingston School of Art, where his father was Principal and amongst his fellow students were Eric Clapton, Keith Relf, and Dave Brock.

That was the time when bands were being formed, but for the son of the 'head honcho', getting involved with that kind of thing was out of the question - Reuben was there to work.

Eric’s mission was simply to become the best guitarist in the world and seeing that the governing body took the line that he wasn’t Read more [...]

BIOGRAPHY
Stampede was formed in 1981: a cult hard rock outfit which exploded onto the British rock scene, signing to Polydor Records and immediately receiving favourable press attention.
Song writing duo Reuben and Laurence Archer had already made inroads into the music scene prior to STAMPEDE around 1979, with previous music projects Lautrec, Lionheart and Wild Horses, completing touring with the likes of Saxon, Whitesnake and Def Leppard and appearing at prestigious venues such as London’s Read more [...]
